What this site records.

This site has no accounts, no payments and no advertising. It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. It counts the pages that are read, in a way that cannot be traced back to a person, and it does that with the Group's own software rather than by handing readers to a third party. It has one form — the sign-up for updates — and keeps only what that form asks for.

Nothing recorded here is sold, shared for anyone else's marketing, or used to build a profile of you.

Sarnian Group, Inc. — an Iowa C-corporation, registered office at 309 Court Ave, Ste 820 PMB 208790, Des Moines, Iowa 50309-2282 — publishes this site and is responsible for the handling described on this page. The address and both means of reaching us are the ones printed in the footer of every page and on the contact page.

The Group measures how its own site is read, with software written for that purpose rather than a service bought from an analytics company. No analytics business receives the figures, nothing is bought in to enrich them, and nothing is sold on.

For each page opened, the record is: the path of the page, the address of the page that linked to it, the two-letter country the request came from, the general type of device, and campaign parameters if the visit arrived through a tagged link. The query string is removed from the path before anything is written down, and the address of the linking page is cut back to the site and page that carried the link, with any query string or anchor of its own discarded. Requests that announce themselves as robots are discarded rather than counted. Nothing is recorded about who you are.

The measurement is run for the Group by the team that builds and maintains this site, which uses the same software on a number of other sites in its care; the readings are sent to that team's collection endpoint rather than to this site's own server, and are held in a database kept for that purpose alone. Each site's figures are recorded against that site, and — as the next section sets out — each site's readers are counted under a value of their own. Joining a reader here to the same person on one of those other sites is therefore not a thing the Group declines to do. It is not a thing that can be worked out from what is stored.

The site sets no cookies of its own, and no third party sets cookies through it. Nothing is kept in local storage or session storage. The typefaces are served from this domain rather than fetched from a font network, and there is no advertising, video, map or chat component calling out of the page.

There is accordingly nothing to ask a reader's permission for, and no banner asking for it. Should that ever change, the notice will change with it and consent will be sought where it is required.

Both signals are honoured. If your browser or an extension sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, no measurement is recorded for your visit at all. Nothing else about the site changes and no page is withheld.

Two companies stand behind this site, each acting on the Group's instructions and for no purpose of its own:

Netlify

Hosting and delivery, and the sign-up form. Every request for a page passes through Netlify's network, which handles IP addresses and ordinary request data for as long as it takes to serve the page and to defend the site from abuse. A submitted sign-up is received and held by Netlify's form service on the Group's behalf, and is read from there by the Group.

Supabase

The database in which the page counts described above are stored, reached only by the collection endpoint and by those who maintain it.

The commentary is written for AgriNexus and reproduced here under the Group's own masthead. Its text and photographs are collected by this site when it is built and then served from this domain, so reading a piece here reports nothing to AgriNexus.

The sign-up form asks for a name, an email address, an organisation and an area of interest, and nothing else. They are kept for one purpose: to send the Group's occasional updates, and to send the ones that match the interest given. They are not sold, not shared for anyone else's marketing, and not combined with the page counts described above, which hold nothing they could be matched to.

A reply to any update, or a note to the address on the contact page, removes the entry from the list.

If you send an email or make a call, whatever you choose to tell us is used to answer you and to keep an ordinary record of the exchange — nothing more. Correspondence is not passed to anyone outside the Group except where the law requires it, and writing does not add you to the updates list; only the form does that.

Particulars given to the Group under non-disclosure are governed by that undertaking, not by this page.

The daily figure by which a visit was counted stops meaning anything the moment its secret is replaced. The counts themselves — pages read, referrers, countries — are kept as the Group's record of how its site is read, and hold nothing that points at a person.

A sign-up is kept for as long as you remain on the list, and deleted when you leave it. Correspondence is kept for as long as the matter is live and thereafter for as long as the Group's business and legal records require, then deleted.

The site is hosted, its page counts stored and its sign-ups received, with providers in the United States. The Group is a United States company and reads its own site's figures there. If you are reading from outside the United States, the request data described above is handled there.

Write to the address on the contact page to ask what the Group holds about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. Where a request comes from a reader in a jurisdiction that grants those rights — the United Kingdom, the European Union, several United States states among them — it will be answered on that footing, and within the period the law allows.

One limit should be said rather than discovered. The analytics hold no identifier that could be matched to you, so in the ordinary case there is no record of your reading for the Group to produce or to erase; the honest answer to such a request will be that none exists. A sign-up and correspondence are different: an entry on the list, an email or a call can be found, shown to you, corrected and deleted on request. If you would rather not be counted at all, the Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals above are the working remedy, and they take effect without asking anyone.

Separately from the count above, the site can run LeadLens, a visitor-identification script operated by the Group. It sets one first-party cookie — a random identifier, kept for a year — so that the pages read in one visit can be joined into a visit, and it looks up the organisation behind a network address in a business-contact database, so that an enquiry from an institution can be recognised as one. It does not identify an individual unless that individual gives their details in a form on this site, in which case the sign-up and the pages read before it are held together in the Group's lead store, which is a Supabase database in the United States.

None of this runs until you have agreed to it. A notice asks once; "Decline" is remembered for as long as "Agree" would have been, and the site works exactly the same either way. The Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals are taken as a standing refusal, and the notice is not shown at all. To withdraw agreement later, clear this site's cookies and site data in your browser; the notice returns and can be answered again. The lawful basis for this processing is consent, and a sign-up is held on the basis of the request you made when you signed up.

This site addresses strategics, investors, development-finance institutions and the Group's counterparties. It is not directed at children and the Group does not knowingly collect information from them.

When this notice changes, the date at the head of the page changes with it, and a change of substance will be described here rather than slipped in.
